NewStart Frisco was founded in 2010 with a vision to create a welcoming community for families and individuals seeking spiritual growth. Our mission is to nurture faith, foster community, and provide quality education through our preschool program. We believe in the power of faith to transform lives, and we strive to build a supportive and inclusive community. Our core values emphasize the importance of education, ensuring that every child in our preschool receives the best start in life. Meet Our Leaders
Denise Crawford
Senior Pastor & Preschool Director
Denise has served NewStart Church since 2001 and has been our Senior Pastor since 2004. In 2010, she also became Preschool Director, drawing on a decade as a public-school teacher. Denise’s passion is helping people of all ages know they are loved and invited into God’s story, and she prays that NewStart remains a place of deep belonging.
Amber
Worship leader
Amber joined NewStart in 2001 and began leading worship in 2004. A surgical nurse and mother of three boys—Hudson, Kingston, and Judah—she balances family life with a love of outdoor adventures, travel, reading, and games. Her favorite superhero is Wonder Woman.
Jim Howe
Treasurer
Jim has been in the Nazarene family since childhood and now serves as our Treasurer. He and his wife Shelley have been married for 30 years and have two children, Trevor and Madison. As President of FASTSIGNS International and co-owner of Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, Jim strives to live out Christ’s unconditional love in every relationship.
Connor
Secretary, AV team
Connor has been part of NewStart Frisco since 2013, serving on the AV team and joining the Board in 2024. An A&M Aerospace Engineering graduate, he is working toward his professional engineer license. He enjoys musical theatre, board games, and carpentry.
Josh
Sound team
Josh came on board in 2023 as part of our sound team. Originally from Denton, TX, he teaches special education at Frisco ISD and volunteers with Scouting America and Kiwanis. Josh enjoys camping, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, and strategic gaming.
Madison
Children’s ministry, worship
Madi joined NewStart Frisco in 2013 and now leads our children’s ministry. She’s a passionate educator, proud dog mom to Harper, and occasional worship singer. In her spare time, Madi loves reading, writing, and playing piano.
Robbie
Worship & media support
Robbie joined NewStart Frisco in June 2024 and supports our worship and media teams. He and his wife Maddy are proud parents to Myles and are awaiting baby #2 (pray for sleep!). Robbie makes music, loves pool and chess, and dreams of flying a paramotor one day.
Maddy
Board member
Maddy joined NewStart Frisco in June 2024 with her husband and their almost two-year-old son, Myles. She’s a creative professional who brings ideas to life through animation and design. Maddy loves alt things coffee, cozy cafés, and pottery making. One day, she hopes to open a shop where she can serve coffee and sell her ceramics and terracotta. She’s grateful to be part of the NewStart community and excited to welcome their baby daughter soon.
